How Are The Working Levels Of Cranes Distinguished?

DATE : November27, 2021

The crane completes the handling operations by lifting and moving the objects lifted. In order to adapt to the different use conditions and work requirements of the crane, when designing and selecting the crane and its parts, the crane and its components should be divided into working levels, including:

——Classification of the whole crane;

——The classification of the institution

How Are The Working Levels Of Cranes Distinguished?

1. The classification of the whole crane

1.1、 The use level of the crane

The design life expectancy of a crane refers to the total number of working cycles that the crane can complete from the beginning of its use to the end of its scrap. A working cycle of a crane refers to a complete process from lifting one item to the time when the next item can be lifted, including crane operation and normal stopping.

The use level of the crane is to divide the total number of work cycles that the crane may complete into 10 levels, represented by U0, U1, U2...U9, see Table 1 below.

Use level

Total number of working cycles of crane (CT

Crane usage frequency

U0

CT≦1.60×104

rarely use

U1

1.60×104<CT≦3.20×104

rarely use

U2

3.20×104<CT≦6.30×104

rarely use

U3

6.30×104<CT≦1.25×105

rarely use

U4

1.25×105<CT≦2.50×105

infrequently used

U5

2.50×105<CT≦5.00×105

moderately frequent use

U6

5.00×105<CT≦1.00×106

more frequent use

U7

1.00×106<CT≦2.00×106

frequent use

U8

2.00×106<CT≦4.00×106

particularly frequently used

U9

4.00×106<CT

particularly frequently used

1.2. The working level of the crane

According to the crane's 10 service levels and 4 load status levels, the working level of the crane is divided into 8 levels, A1–A8.

2. Classification of institutions

2.1. Institutional level of use

The design life expectancy of a mechanism refers to the total operating time of the organization from the beginning of use to the expected replacement or final scrapping. It is only the cumulative sum of the actual operating hours of the mechanism, and does not include the shutdown time of the mechanism during work. The use level of an mechanism is to divide the total operating time of the mechanism into 10 levels, represented by T0, T1, T2...T9.

2.2. The working level of the mechanism

The division of the mechanism's work level is the overall evaluation of the load size and frequency of each individual mechanism as a whole. It does not mean that all the components in the mechanism have the same load and operating conditions.
