Under Running Bridge Crane

An under running bridge crane, also known as an under hung crane, is a type of overhead crane where the end trucks run on the bottom flange of the runway beam. This means that the runway beam typically hangs from the roof structure, rather than being supported by floor columns. This design allows for maximum utilization of the work area, as the crane can move all the way to the end of the runway beam and the hoist can travel the entire length of the bridge.

Sinoko European standard under running bridge crane has reasonable and optimized structure, maximum meet the needs in strength, stiffness and stability.

Under Running Bridge Crane

Under running overhead cranes are ideal for settings with limited overhead space. They operate under a runway structure, maximizing the distance from the ground to the hook. These cranes are usually supported by the building structure, making the most of the available height.

These cranes come in single, double, and box girder designs. Double and box girders offer better hook height than single girders because the hoist is mounted on top of the bridge.

SINOKO under running bridge crane has reasonable and optimized structure, maximum meet the needs in strength, stiffness and stability. To fully satisfying different customer requirements, the company takes full advantages of combining crane design with site condition, flexible box section designing structure and maintenace friendly feature, possibly make every step easy and individual.

Features

1. Less expensive due to a simpler trolley design, reduced freight costs, simplified and faster installation, and less material for the bridge and runway beam

2. Lower loads on the building structure or foundations due to a reduced deadweight. In many cases, it can be supported by existing roof structure without the use of additional support columns.

3. Better hook approach for both trolley travel and bridge travel

4. Easier to install, service, and maintain

5. Ideal for workshops, warehouses, material yards, and manufacturing and production facilities

6. Better end approach.

7. Reduced structural requirements for the building.

FAQs

1. What is an under running bridge crane and when is it used?

An under running bridge crane—or under-hung crane—is designed with end trucks running along the bottom flange of a runway beam, typically hung from the roof structure. It’s ideal for situations where floor space is limited or overhead headroom is constrained.

2. What are the lifting capacities and span options for this crane?

Sinoko's under running bridge crane supports load capacities from 0.5 t to 10 t, with spans up to 35 m, offering a versatile light- to medium-duty solution.

3. What are the main advantages of choosing an under running crane?

These cranes are less expensive, lighter in structure—leading to lower loads on building frameworks—and offer better hook approach and easier installation. They're perfect for workshops, warehouses, and manufacturing spaces.

4. What control methods and certifications are supported by this model?

It offers flexible operator control via either pendant push‑button or wireless remote, and holds CE and ISO certifications for quality and safety. The core components include ABB motors and SEW reducers.

5. Where do under running cranes excel compared to top running cranes?

Under running cranes excel in environments with limited headroom, integrate seamlessly into existing roof structures, and require lower installation and foundation costs—making them especially cost-effective for light-duty operations.

6. What are typical application scenarios for under running bridge cranes?

They are well-suited for manufacturing facilities, material yards, workshops, production lines, and warehouses—especially when efficient space utilization and easy maintenance are important priorities.
